The cycle begins in June with the introduction of new products, pricing and sales programs. The cycle peaks in July with STEP and the introduction of new products to buyers for the next season comes to a conclusion in September. Important fall consumer and trade shows follow, where products are introduced to boaters and dealers. Winter is a time for training and reinforcement of product knowledge and programs, and the stocking of warehouses in preparation for spring orders. In the spring open houses and retail special days dominate the market.
OEM Products
The boat builder (OEM) selling cycle is year round. New items are added as new boat models move into production and current models are updated. Your reps will maintain constant contact with builder purchasing agents and engineers. IBEX (International Boat builders’Exhibition) is a major trade event in October each year, where the industry gathers to see new products.
